AUVSI Competition
Competition Tasks:1. Validation Gate
The vehicle will pass under a validation gate to start the run.
2. Dock with Bouy
The vehicle will detect a moored bouy emitting an omnidirectional RED light located five to six feet off the floor of the pool. The vehicle will knock the buoy off its mooring causing the buoy to float to the surface.
3. Pipeline Inspection
The vehicle will detect five sections of ORANGE PVC piping that start from the bouy and lead to each of the target bins and finally to the Treasure Atoll ('X').
4. Target Bins
The vehicle will detect two BLACK target bins surrounded by a WHITE border and drop markers inside them. The second target bin will have a cover buoy which the vehicle must lift off to be able to drop the markers into it.
5. Treasure Atoll
The vehicle will detect the frequencies given by an acoustic pinger. Above the pinger, lies the treasure (PVC 'X') which must be retrieved.
6. Surface Area
The acoustic pinger will modulate which of the two octagonal surface areas the vehicle should surface with the treasure and thus ending the run.
